THE MET Office has issued a yellow warning of thunderstorms for the South of England.

It warns that heavy rain and lightning may bring disruption to some areas.

Sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions, with a chance of travel disruptions where flooding and lightning strikes occur.

The MET estimates that storms should be expected at around 7pm on Wednesday, May 18, lasting until the early hours of the morning on Thursday, May 19.

Those travelling are advised to take extra caution, leaving extra journey time, and avoiding crossing flooded or disrupted routes.
