A MAN has been jailed for drug offences and possession of a weapon following a Thames Valley Police investigation.
Ionut Budur, aged 33 and of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply a controlled class A drug, namely crack cocaine and heroin, and one count of possession of an offensive weapon at a previous hearing.
He was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison at a subsequent hearing at Reading Crown Court on Thursday, November 9.
On July 25 this year, Budur was seen in an exchange of drugs on Katesgrove Lane, and, following a search, was found in possession of 44 wraps of class A drugs.
He was also found in possession of a knuckle-duster.
Investigating officer, PC James Dunwell, based at Reading police station, said: “Budur was an established drug dealer and I am pleased to have been able to bring him to justice.
“We will not tolerate those involved in the supply of drugs and will continue to pursue offenders.
“If anyone has any information about drug-dealing in their area, please report it to us via our online reporting form or by calling 101 so we can use that information to take action.
“You can also report anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
