A MAN has been jailed for a number of drug offences in Reading following a Thames Valley Police investigation.
Leandro Silva, aged 22 and of London Road, Bromley, was sentenced to two years and six months’ imprisonment at Reading Crown Court on Friday, October 13.
It follows a hearing on Thursday, August 11, at which Silva pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A, namely cocaine and heroin, and one count of possession of criminal property.
He was ordered to forfeit a mountain bike and a quantity of cash, with a destruction order placed on the quantity of drugs and a mobile phone.
On Wednesday, August 10, Silva was seen by police at around 4.50pm cycling away from a group of drug users on Francis Street.
He was detained on Elgar Road and subjected to a search under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs act.
He was found to be in possession of 33 wraps of Class A drugs, namely cocaine and heroin, a mobile phone, and a quantity of cash.
He was arrested that day, and charged the following day.
