PERFORMERS from across Reading have been invited to put themselves forward as a regular singing competition returns.
Let’s Sing Reading is back for 2024 raising money for the charities selected by the mayor, Cllr Tony Page, Reading Refugee Support Group and Reading Stroke Support Group.
The contest sees singers battle it out as soloists, in duets, or as part of a group, before six entrants from three different age categories take part in the live final at The Hexagon in March.
A winner from each category will be selected as well as an overall winner, who will be presented with the Let’s Sing trophy by the mayor.
Cllr Tony Page, Mayor of Reading, said: “The annual competition is a real highlight in the Mayoral calendar. I’m very pleased this year to be welcoming applications from vocalists of all kinds, thereby shining a light on the wealth of talent we are lucky to have in Reading.
“If you’re thinking about applying, I’d strongly encourage you to take a chance and join in the fun, all while helping to raise important funds for two causes very close to my heart.”
Entries close on Monday, February 19, with the live final taking place at The Hexagon on Tuesday, March 26.
