JON RONSON is bringing his latest show to Reading this year as he sets out on his updated live tour.

The journalist, filmmaker, and author of multiple best-selling books has announced he is bringing his updated tour, Jon Ronson’s Psychopath Night, to theatres around the country in November.

Following a sold-out run last year, the show explores the minds of psychopaths, building on his 2011 smash-hit book The Psychopath test, in which he explored the prevalence of psychopathy in leading business and political figures.

The show features new anecdotes and updated reflections on what it means to be normal and examinations of the Hare Psychopathy Checklist.

Ronson’s other works include Them: Adventures with Extremists, So You’ve Been Publicly Shamed, and The Men Who Stare at Goats, the latter of which was adapted into a feature film starring George Clooney and Ewan McGregor.

More recently, he wrote and starred in The Butterfly Effect, a podcast exploring the effects of internet pornography; The Last Days of August, which examined the death of adult star August Ames; and Things Fall Apart, a social examination of culture wars.

He also served as the screenwriter for the award-winning Netflix film Okja with director Bong Joon-ho.

Ronson said of the upcoming tour: “I’m delighted to be heading back on the road for Psychopath Night 2025.

“Last year’s shows were much loved–not least because of my amazing mystery guests, whose stories twist and turn in ways you’d never expect.

“We’re living in increasingly psychopathic times–the corridors of political and business power are replete with those traits, and they’re being widely encouraged on social media too.

“How startling to be living in a world that rewards the worst mental disorder of all – with its grandiosity, lack of empathy, pathological lying.”

He explained: “As society grows ever more psychopathic, my show will teach you how to spot a psychopath, and make you question whether becoming a psychopath hunter can turn you a little psychopathic too.”

Jon Ronson’s Psychopath Night is touring in November, including a show at The Hexagon, Reading, on Thursday, November 6.
