Harborough Town FC manager has called his team’s draw in the FA Cup second-round with Reading as a ‘surreal tie’.
The Royals will host the non-league outfit next month at the Select Car Leasing Stadium on Sunday, December 1 (2pm kick-off).
“When it was announced and said Reading versus Harborough Town, that is surreal,” said Harborough manager Mitch Austin
“I remember watching Reading in the Premier League myself and we are little old Harborough. The draw is a good draw.”
Harborough, who play in the sixth tier of English football have sold out their away allocation and their manager has also urged the Reading fans to turn out in force.
He continued: “I think they’re in a bit of turmoil and I hope the fans back them on the day because we are a little non-league club.
“I believe they have some issues with their chairman which they’re not overly happy about but let’s try and support us and make it a day for the non-leaguers and try to get as many in there rocking and remind us of the Reading of old because they were a really big Premier League team.
“Apart from Birmingham and Bradford, there weren’t many biggies left (in the draw) and we were running out, but I’m delighted.”
Tickets are available at £15 for adults for the FA Cup tie which has caused some controversy among a certain section of supporters who expect Ruben Selles to field a youthful side as they are in League One action just two days later.
