Rotherham United manager Steve Evans believes that his side were ‘so far dominant’ in their victory over Reading on Saturday.
The Royals had gone ahead through a spectacular Lewis Wing free-kick which gave them the advantage going into the break.
However, the Millers hit back with two quick goals after the restart which won them the points.
It was certainly a game we should win. We were so far dominant in the early stages of the game,” said Evans.
“We’ve worked ever so hard. I was surprised a bit bny the reaction of the supporters at half-time because I think we’ve played really well.
“They (the fans) have had two years of heartache, two years of getting beat every week. We started the second-half really well and the goals were wonderful.
“Their goalkeeper (David Button), who for me is top class, I think he loses it in the sun and doesn’t get off the ground and we head it in.
“We relied on keeping the ball out of the net with a couple of big headers.”
Reading were reduced to 10 players for the final 20 minutes of the ame after Kevlin Ehibhatiomhan was shown a second yellow card.
Evans continued: “It’s difficult, I’ve been there as a manager when you go down to 10 men. They were going man for man at the back, hence why we got in so many good areas.
“You have to rely on the back six defending the box and you saw that in the last passage of play – they kept bouncing the ball back into the box.
“In isolation with the red card, it’s a red card every day of the week. I think the FA might look at it, I think there’s another punch in there. I didn’t see it, I turned my back to it, but I’m hearing there was a wicked punch in there that will probably lead to further action.”
