READING FC manager Ruben Selles admitted his relief after confirmation that the club has cleared an outstanding HMRC tax bill.
“It’s good news it’s been paid and we’ve cleared it,” said Selles.
“Hopefully we can do it on time next time. Although we don’t get involved directly with these things, It affects everything around us with all the noise.”
Despite picking up a point, the Royals stay at the bottom of the League One table after their winless league run stretched to eight games.
Speaking on the match, Selles said: “We had the moment to go 2-0 with Harvey Knibbs. We didn’t make it, didin’t start well in the second-half, and they scored the goal.
“It’s not about individuals, we’ve been in this situation before. As a team we need to put those situations in the net.
““Both teams had situations to score the second, not many, we think it’s a fair point.
“We can be better. We have a lot of ball in the opposition half and need to get more shots on target to take advantage.”
Selles also commented on the performance of Jeriel Dorsett who made his league debut for the club.
He said: “Jeriel did exactly what we wanted him to do. It’s difficult when a player hasn’t been playing in the league this year. He had a successful loan at Kilmarnock last year. He’s been training really well.
“It’s clear what we wanted from that position to stop crosses, to be more tight in one-on-ones and to be more aggressive.
“It was his time. He’s been working hard and he did a really good game.”
