A WOMEN’S society has been celebrated for its effort to help a fellow community group throw its annual fundraiser.
The Inner Wheel Club of Reading Maiden Erlegh rose to the challenge of making and serving hundreds of canapes at the preview evening of the Rotary Charity Art & Craft Fair, held last week at Leighton Park School.
Club members also took charge of the Art Cafe, providing refreshments to visitors at the fair, which raised funds for Feeding Communities. The Thomas Franks Foundation project provides essential food and healthy meals to support food banks or families suffering from food insecurity directly.
The money raised by Inner Wheel directly will go towards its main charity for its centenary year, The Cowshed. The charity provides support to people of all backgrounds in a time of personal crisis.
Inner Wheel members meet at Sonning Golf Club on the third Thursday evening of every month and welcomes new members to join in the fun, take part in activities, raise funds for charity and support the local community.
