Noel Hunt’s Reading side earned an important three points with victory against Northampton Town to take them out of the relegation places.
The Royals have had a torrid start to the season having fallen well below exportations, but they will be hoping that win will finally help them kickstart their campaign.
Reading manager Hunt has been under pressure with certain sections of the fan base calling for the hierarchy to make a change.
However, Reading chairman Rob Couhig has been strong in his support for the boss and it appears that the club are going to show patience and time in order for him to try and turn the team’s fortunes around.
Hunt will need wins to keep his job and will hope that a win over Northampton will be the catalyst for an improved run of form.
Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan scored the only goal of the night which saw Reading take all three points which lifts them out of the relegation zone and up to 16th in the table.
Reading are back at home again at the SCL on Saturday when they host Doncaster Rovers, who are 12th in the table.
