Reading FC boss is hoping for ‘good news’ after the club confirmed on Tuesday that they have signed exclusivity with an unnamed group regarding a takeover.
The Royals have had to endure a torrid time under Dai Yongge, but finally have reason to be optimistic as the club took a big step towards a sale being completed, which is expected to take up to two months.
“I saw the statement from the club, I have no details on it but hopefully it is good news.
“Because of exclusivity I have read that but I don’t have the confirmation of anything, I just know the club has accepted the letter of intention and hopefully if it is happening then it’s a good thing for the club and the people working at the club.”
Despite the news of exclusivity being confirmed. Selles admitted that he does not yet feel calm about the situation.
He continued: “I don’t feel that yet (calm). I know there is the situation with the statement but that didn’t bring any calmness to me.
“We still don’t have any information. The process is correct because you have confidentiality there so not everyone has to know.
“But I don’t know anything about it so it’s exactly the same position.
“For the moment we didn’t get any more points deductions and I hope the club can keep it like that until the end of the season, but that should not even be a conversation for us.”
Reading are back in action tomorrow when they host Northampton Town at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.
Selles’ side go into the game six points above the League One relegation zone with seven games left to play.
