SOUTH BERKSHIRE 4s got the better of SOUTH BERKSHIRE 5s in an interclub friendly match.

Playing at Cantley Park, it was the 4s who took a 3-1 win as both teams played a final game in the calendar year before the winter break.

South Berks 4s next scheduled match in South Central Women’s Thames 3 is a home game against Harlow High Wycombe.

They currently lead the way in the division having picked up 23 points from 10 games with seven victories, two draws and a defeat.

South Berks 5s will face Newbury & Thatcham 5s away from home on Saturday, January 3 in the South Central Women’s Thames 4.

After their opening eight matches in the league, South Berks 5s also sit top of the table having amassed 19 points with six wins, a draw and a loss.

 

Cup

SOUTH BERKSHIRE were knocked out of the cup after their narrow loss away to Maidenhead.

South Berks scored twice on the road, but were beaten 3-2 by the home side who progressed.

In league action, South Berks sit in fourth position on 17 points having won four, drawn five and lost just one of their opening 10 games of the campaign.

South Berks return to league action on Saturday, January 6 with an away trip to third placed Banbury.

 

SOUTH BERKSHIRE 2s made it through to the next round with a home success over Berkhamsted & Hemel Hempstead.

Having progressed with a 2-1 win, the team now has almost a full month out of action before they host Oxford 3s in the South Central Women’s Division 2 North.

After 10 league matches, South Berks sit in seventh position on 12 points.

SONNING 4s collected three points on their away trip to Slough 3s in a one goal contest.

Facing the side at the bottom of the table who have yet to pick up a point this campaign, Sonning inflicted Slough’s 11th straight defeat by scoring the only goal of the game.

The triumph lifts Sonning up a place into ninth position on 11 points from 11 games.

PHOENIX READING 2s lost out in their final match of the year away to Windsor 3s.

They shipped three goals without reply which leaves them in third place on 22 points with seven wins, a draw and three losses from their opening 11 games.

They will be at home to Marlow 5s in their first match of the new year.


South Central Women’s Premier

SONNING had to settle for a point after their goalless draw with Salibsbury in their final league outing of the calendar year.

The result means that Sonning end the year in ninth position on 13 points from 12 games.

The team will be back in action on January 13 when they are at home to Maidenhead.
