Hockey round-up: Reading Ladies 1s continue strong start to season

Men’s National Premier Division

READING 1s went down to a third successive league defeat with a 5-1 loss away at Oxted.

Reading have had a difficult start to the campaign having lost six of their opening seven matches.

They are three points off the bottom of the table above University of Nottingham, who have lost all of their fixtures.

Next up for Reading, they host eighth placed East Grinstead.

READING 1s continued their charge near the top of the table by collecting three away points at Isca & Exeter University.

The 3-0 success means that Reading are in second position having won five of their opening seven matches.

They are just two points off the top, behind current leaders Surbiton.

Reading host sixth placed East Grinstead this weekend.

Women’s National Conference West

READING 2s picked up their third league win of the campaign by earning a triumph over Oxford Hawks.

The 3-0 success lifts Reading up to fourth place in the standings on nine points. They are behind the top three teams by just one point in a tightly compacted top half of the table.

They face an away trip at Trojans in two weeks time following a break from action this weekend.
