Reading FC fans have voiced their frustrations on social media once again regarding manager Leam Richardson after a damaging defeat at the weekend.
The Royals were beaten at relegation battling Doncaster Rovers which has effectively left their play-off hopes in tatters.
Having been in a strong position to finish in the top six just a few weeks back, the Royals have now dropped down to 9th place with just three games remaining. They are five points behind 6th placed Stevenage who also have two games in hand.
Many fans have become increasingly frustrated with Richarson’s style of play which has seen the side lack creative freedom and intensity since he took over from Noel Hunt in October.
Despite an initial upturn in form and results, many have been left unimpressed with his management of the club.
One fan said: “Chatting with my wife about the club and this is the first season ever where neither of us can be bothered to come back for the remaining home games. We’ve never felt this bad about going even through the relegation seasons. Something has to change.”
Another added: “Does Richardson realise that the appalling football he is inflicting on us is likely to be eating away any transfer budget he gets come the summer? If season ticket sales are down (and they surely will be), then the owners will be revisiting their planned budgets.”
Another fan said: “Can’t keep sacking managers, so what’s the solution? Leam Richardson clearly isn’t the man to lead us forward with his tactics, was getting rid of Noel premature? We’re screwed regardless.”
Fans also voiced concerns about next season if the ownership do not decide to make changes at the club over the summer.
One said: “Genuinely think there’s a risk that if we stick with Richardson a few big players will leave in summer so they don’t have to play such ugly football.”
Another added: “If Richardson is still in charge come next season the SCL will be a very empty place.”
Another supporter said: “I reckon Richardson has lost the dressing room judging by the reaction of some of the players after that. Unsurprising, with such horrendous tactics. Can’t see us progressing if he’s given the summer.”
