Here’s a classic from this year’s August Bank Holiday headliners of Wokingham Festival.

Ozric Tentacles are one of the most influential bands to emerge from the 1980’s festival scene. Led by multi-instrumentalist Ed Wynne, the band create a heady mix of progressive rock, psychedelia and dance.

I went along to The 1865 in Southampton recently with some of the festival team and it was a great night with a packed venue grooving along to their incredible sounds.

They are currently on an extensive European tour playing to big crowds so we are lucky to have this legendary band coming to visit our area as one of only a few of their UK festival appearances this year – https://ozrics.com/

Aaron Cilia – Apocalypse 1 – What Are We Waiting For?

From a classic to something bang up to date from a new epic EP called ‘The Apocalypse Trilogy’ by local musician/producer, Aaron Cilia.

This is the opening track of the trilogy and it features guest vocals from Charlie Bramald of Ghost Of The Machine and Maxine Cilia of Spriggan Mist.

Most of Aaron’s releases to date have been wonderful instrumentals so it’s interesting to hear him incorporate vocals to great effect on this prog epic – https://www.facebook.com/AaronCiliaArtist

Chalk – Claw

It’s not long now until Are You Listening? Festival and here’s a band that will be performing at the warmup party on May 10, the night before the festival.

We went to the warmup party last year and it was a great night and with the line up this year of Opus Kink, Chalk, Horse Rock and Midnight Rodeo it’s sure to be well worth getting along to.

Chalk are a fast rising band from Belfast and this track with its throbbing hypnotic indie electro is an excellent track from their Conditions II EP – https://www.facebook.com/chalkbelfast

The Hawkmen – What’s The Worst?

Fun rockabilly pop from a band that visited Reading Face Bar recently for a joyous Club Velocity/New Mind show – http://www.thehawkmen.com/

Tom Webber – Keep Calling

Another quality melodic single from Tom with a great hook that sticks in your brain – https://www.instagram.com/tomwebbermusic

Lonely Robot – Why Do We Stay?

We went to Reading based musician an producer, John Mitchell’s ‘Songs & Stories’ show recently and it was a wonderful evening. This song was one of the highlights of the night – https://johnmitchellhq.com/

Who Ate All The Crayons – Tired

It’s a new single from the band that will be at a Jamma promoted gig at Brewdog Reading this Friday May 3, with Bone-Idle (see below). They are also at Wokingham Festival in August – https://www.facebook.com/WhoAteAllTheCrayons

Kyros – Esoterica (Radio Edit)

If you want to hear the awesome full-length version of this song, check out the band’s acclaimed album, Mannequin – https://www.kyrosmusic.com/

Bone-Idle – Listen Now

This exciting Reading band is at the Jamma gig this Friday, May 3 (see above). They are also at Wokingham Festival – https://www.instagram.com/bone_idleuk
