CHILDREN of all ages will be able to meet Geoffrey the Giraffe on Saturday, as Toys R Us returns to Reading.
The much-loved toy shop is opening a branch in the Broad Street branch of WHSmith, returning to the town centre after many years.
The opening event takes place from 8.30am on Saturday, June 24, with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
The first 50 children through the doors will receive a free Toys R Us goody bag worth more than £20, while others will be able to have their photo taken with the store’s mascot, Geoffrey the Giraffe.
Also making appearances will be characters from Paw Patrol and Sylvanian Families until 1pm.
The new store will feature popular toy brands including Barbie, Bluey, Fisher Price, Hot Wheels, LEGO, Marvel, Paw Patrol, Peppa Pig, Playmobil and Star Wars.
Children will be able to try out the latest products at demonstration tables, while a lifesize Geoffrey the Giraffe sculpture will be perfect for photo opportunities.
The Reading branch is one of nine new shop-in-shops that Toys R Us are opening as they return to the high street. Other locations include York, Cheltenham and Oxford.
