IT’S a job that will drive anyone to drink.
A holiday website is looking for a campervan connoisseur to visit hundreds of pubs across the country and sample their beer while being paid for the privilege.
The dedicated driver will travel in a decked out motorhome stopping off at public houses with cosy fireplaces and stunning views.
Brit Stops, which represents over a thousand small businesses, says its sober scout will design the UK’s Ultimate Pub Trail, mapping some of the 750-plus pubs it covers.
A company spokesperson said: “Yes, you read correctly, Brit Stops is paying someone to drink beer and camp out in a decked out motorhome while exploring all corners of the UK. The Pint Chaser will spend one night at each location with no drinking and driving.
“The lucky person will capture the unique experience of travelling with Brit Stops, leaving a review for each location, documenting their trip on social media, and designing the best route for future travellers.
“Brit Stops’ mission is to help people discover the hidden gems throughout the UK. Hundreds of pubs, farms, vineyards, distilleries, country estates and more have joined Brit Stops’ network of alternative camping solutions and are seeing the impact of being part of this unique scheme in the form of additional revenue. The chosen Pint Chaser will honour Brit Stops’ mission of attracting tourists and adventurers to small businesses across Great Britain.”
In return, there is a daily stipend for the trip, as well as a fully decked out motorhome for the journey, or an additional stipend for those who already own one.
Applicants must be over 18, have a valid UK driver’s license and be able to drive a motorhome. To apply, send pictures of your experience tasting beer and taking road trips along with details of any road trip architecting abilities.
