Former Reading FC teenage star Caylan Vickers looks set to make a move on transfer deadline day to join League One side Mansfield Town.
Vickers, who rose up through the Reading academy, was one of several Reading players sold last January as Premier League Brighton saw off competition from several clubs to sign him after he had made 23 appearances for the Royals.
The Royals had hoped to bring him back on loan for the remainder of last campaign, but were unable to finalise an agreement as the Seagulls purchased him for an undisclosed fee.
Vickers has spent his time at Brighton in their under 21s team and has netted five goals in 12 Premier League 2 appearances this season.
He will now gain more valuable experience in senior football as he makes the move to Mansfield, managed by Nigel Clough.
Mansfield are currently in 14th place in the table on 37 points from 27 games, seven points behind Reading in 8th.
Reading will play Mansfield Town away from home on Saturday, April 21 in their penultimate away game of the season.
