Former Reading FC forward Yakou Meite is set to be a free agent this summer and was pictured at the Royals’ final game of the season at the weekend.

Meite had a two-year spell with Cardiff City in the Championship, but the Bluebirds were relegated and finished bottom of the league which means they will be in League One alongside Reading next season.

Meite became a fans favourite in Berkshire throughout his six seasons with the club and netted 47 times in 165 appearances for the club, including double figures in three consecutive Championship seasons.

He departed the Royals in 2023 to join Cardiff on a free but struggled to find form during his two year stint in Wales.

He netted just four Championship goals while making 66 appearances for Cardiff.

His future is now up in the air as the 29-year-old will be searching for a new club this summer.
