THE author behind Downton Abbey has turned his head to some tales from the riverbank, and it will be brought to life by a Reading-based amateur dramatics group this spring.

The Sainsbury Singers will perform Julian Fellowes’ take of Kenneth Grahame’s famous stories The Wind in the Willows.

Ratty, Mole, Toad and the gang will be brought to life in this show featuring music by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe (Honk!, Mary Poppins, Half a Sixpence).

The Singers say the show is packed with toe-tapping tunes, and lots of humour making it a real feel-good show for all ages.

It will be performed at The Hexagon in Reading from Wednesday, May 17 to Saturday, May 20. Tickets cost £25, £22 for concessions, and £14.50 for under 14s, and some special offers available for group bookings.

For more details, or to book, log on to https://sainsburysingers.org.uk, or call the Reading Arts box office on 0118 960 6060.
