EMERGENCY crews have been called to a fire in Reading this morning.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service were called around 3.30am on Sunday, February 13, to tackle a blaze at Royal Court in Kings Road at its junction with Kennet Street.

The roads were closed for a period, to allow firefighters to bring the fire under control. They have since reopened.

Police said that a cordon is in place and people should avoid the area if possible.

A number were residents have been evacuated and one person has been treated for smoke inhalation.

At this time, Thames Valley Police do not believe there is anyone missing.
