A FASHION sale is set to take place in Reading this week in aid of a charitable cause in Berkshire.

Smart Works Reading is holding its Autumn Fashion Sale, bringing preloved designer and high-street clothing to Reading Minster.

Proceeds from the sale provide critical funding for Smart Works’ services helping unemployed women in Berkshire, which includes providing interview outfits and coaching to help those it supports gain the confidence and skills needed to secure employment.

More than 1,500 women have been supported by the Reading arm of the charity, 69% of whom go on to get a job within a month of their appointment.

The charity, established in 2015, also has branches in London, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Newcastle, and Leeds, and even offers online support to those outside of those areas.

Alex Williams, Fundraising Trustee, Smart Works Reading said of the sale: “After the success of our summer sale at Reading Minster, we’re delighted to be returning for our latest sale.
