TWO buildings at the University of Reading’s Whiteknights campus were closed briefly on Friday, September 15, so reports of a suspect package could be investigated.
Emergency services were called to the area around the library at noon following the security alert.
As a precaution, the university’s authorities made a decision to close both the library and Foxhill House, but as nothing was found they reopened later in the afternoon.
A spokesperson said: “The University briefly closed two buildings on Friday morning after receiving unconfirmed reports of a suspect package.
“Emergency services attended to assist.
“After a thorough search was made, nothing of concern was identified.
“The Library reopened at around 1.40pm and Foxhill House reopened at 2.20pm.”
