EFL expert Don Goodman has praised the work of first-team manager Noel Hunt for doing a ‘brilliant’ job under chaotic circumstances at Reading FC.
After a court case between owner Dai Yongge and former prospective buyer Rob Couhig, it was revealed last week that Yongge has been disqualified by the EFL with the organisation trying to get him to divest his shares by April 4.
Despite all the jeopardy off the pitch, the Royals’ playing staff have managed to keep their attention on the pitch throughout the season and are still in the hunt to finish in the League One play-off positions.
After 37 matches, Reading are in 8th spot on 59 points, just two points off 6th placed Huddersfield Town.
Speaking to https://www.grosvenorcasinos.com/sport, Goodman said: “Noel Hunt is doing an absolutely brilliant job. They’re on a 10-game unbeaten run and only two points off the play-offs which is just remarkable.
“You have to take into consideration that they lost their best player in January as well as dealing with everything that has happened off the pitch. The turmoil has been going on forever.
“It’s chaos at Reading, so for them to be in the play-off mix is tremendous. Noel is doing a great job and if any set of fans deserve some good news soon, it’s Reading fans.”
Reading return to action on Saturday when they host 15th placed Peterborough United at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.
