SOME of the most memorable plays and shows to grace South Reading will be revisited at an upcoming local history event.
Actors have tread the boards in Whitley for performances of Count your Blessings, Aladdin, Cinderella, Flare Path, Dick Whittington, Dorothy and many more classics over the years, and these will be remembered at the upcoming Way Back When in Whitley event on July 8.
Pictures, programmes, loose tickets and other artefacts will make up displays which fit the theme. Exhibits take place on a roughly biannual basis.
Whitley Community Museum curator David Turner said: “In my recent research of documents held at the Whitley Community Museum it became very clear that Whitley was very lucky to have such talented residents.”
“The museum is lucky to have programmes for all the shows listed here.”
The event is free to attend and is held at the South Reading Community Centre on Northumberland Avenue, starting from 10am.
