Experienced payroll manager Dongying Zhou is looking forward to the challenge of working in the bus sector for the first time.

Ms Zhou has been appointed as group payroll manager for Reading Buses and their sister companies Newbury & District and Thames Valley.

Her responsibilities extend to between 600-700 employees including the processing of overtime and bonuses for drivers, engineers, cleaners, and of course the company’s ‘star of the month’ scheme.

The company said that her new role is a promotion, and she comes to the Great Knollys Street firm from a private hospital group and a nationwide waste management group.

“We are delighted to welcome Dongying to the team at Reading Buses. Amidst all of the challenges of the post Covid world, ensuring that all our employees are paid correctly and on time is a vital role. I’m sure that Dongying has many successful years ahead of her in her new job,” said Reading Buses chief executive pfficer Robert Williams.

And 33-year-old Ms Zhou, who lives in Wokingham, said: “I am looking forward to my career in the bus industry as the bus is essential for lots of people.”
