ANY history of Reading has to include a chapter to its biscuit industry.
This year marks the 200th anniversary of Huntley and Palmers, who took full advantage of the railways to spread its tasty treats across the country.
Now, members of the Berkshire Family History Society are to hold an online talk looking at the institution that was part of the town’s life and culture until the 1970s.
Richard Marks will explore what it was like to work for the company, and how Reading’s role as a transport hub helped.
The talk takes place from 2pm on Thursday, November 24.
Tickets cost £5, or £4 for members.
