DEMOLITION is to be the first phase of a project to create a new leisure and shopping space with a hotel in Reading town centre.
Thackeray Estates owns buildings on the corner of Queen Victoria Street and Friar Street, and has submitted its proposals to Reading Borough Council.
It will see 146 Friar Street, a three-storey brick building occupied by Reading Food & Wine, demolished to create a courtyard area, part of the QVS1+ project.
Planning permission was granted in May this year.
