Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue attended reports of an animal in distress on Monday.
In a statement, it said: “At 11:17am on Monday, October 16, we received reports of an animal in need of rescue on Peppard Road in Reading.
“A Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Caversham Road Fire Station were sent to the scene.
“Upon arrival, crews found one Muntjac deer stuck in a metal fence. Hydraulic spreaders were used to release the animal.
“The crew was on scene for around six minutes.”
