Independent housebuilder Dandara is supporting the Wokingham community this Christmas with a £500 donation to Wokingham Foodbank that will go towards making Christmas hampers for their clients experiencing financial hardship this winter.

This year, Trussell’s UK-wide Foodbank community distributed more than 3.1 million emergency food parcels to people facing hardship, a 94% increase over the past five years[1]. With the winter season bringing heightened demands, supporting local foodbanks is more vital than ever.

To lend a helping hand to the community, Dandara, who is building homes nearby at Oakwood Place, has donated £500 to Wokingham Foodbank which will be used to create personal Christmas hampers for their clients, including families and young children, to boost the Christmas spirit for those in need this festive period.

Zoey Rampton, Head of Sales at Dandara Southern commented: “It’s fantastic to see Wokingham Foodbank bringing the festive spirit to clients and their families this Christmas with their lovely Christmas hamper initiative. We understand how important it is to engage with the neighborhoods we build homes in, and we hope this donation will go a long way in helping the local community feel involved in the festivities, and spread some holiday cheer, particularly for those experiencing difficult times.”

Annette Medhurst, Manager at Wokingham Foodbank adds: “Keeping morale high, particularly during the holiday season can be a real challenge for those experiencing financial hardship. With this donation from Dandara, we hope our hampers provide some extra festive cheer to those in need of a boost this Christmas.”

A range of three, four and five-bedroom homes are available at Oakwood Place. with prices starting at £550,000 for a three-bedroom home.
