A THEATRE in Reading is set to host a night of stand-up this week.

Progress Theatre is bringing more comedians to the stage for its second live comedy event of the season.

Regular host and MC Iszi Lawrence will welcome headline act Sara Barron with support from Joe Jacobs and Bella Hull.

As well as appearances on Comedy Central’s Roast Battle, Would I Lie to You?, and Richard Osman’s House of Games, Barron was among the comedians who performed during Reading’s Comedy Festival last year.

Comedian and musician Joe Jacobs has supported the likes of Bill Burr, Jamali Maddix, and Dane Baptiste, with stand-up appearances at The Comedy Store in Hollywood, Up The Creek, and Top Secret.

Bella Hull rounds out the bill of guests for the evening, hot on the heels of her debut stand-up hour, Babycakes, last year.

As well as performing at The British Science Festival, The Royal Society, and The British Museum, Lawrence was part of the Perrier Award-winning Best Newcomer show in 2004.

Comedy in Progress takes place at Progress Theatre, The Mount, from 7.45pm on Friday, November 17.
