A FIRM that runs Christmas parties by the river has applied to Reading Borough Council for permission to host this year’s events.
Best Parties Ever wants to erect a marquee in Kings Meadow, off Napier Road, to accommodate guests for meals and performances.
This year, it has a burlesque theme, and the tent will seat up to 790 people at circular tables. There will also be a dancefloor and a silent disco area.
The licence is for 45 days use of Kings Meadow, with the site vacated no later than 2pm on New Year’s Eve.
