CHRISTMAS came early to an East Reading pub on Saturday as they hosted a festive market.

Seasonal decorations, unique gift ideas, pottery and ceramics were all available at The Hope & Bear at Cemetery Junction.

Artist Leslee Barron sold her Reading calendars, while other stallholders offered items such as jewellery and bath soaks and candles.

The venue also served mulled wine and cider to help people get into the festive spirit.

In a post on social media, the pub’s team said: “Our very first Christmas Market went down a treat, so well that even our head chef, Ray had to have a browse.

“We would like to say massive thank you to the stall holders and everyone that popped by to support them.”
