RESIDENTS at a Reading care home and their families and friends recently enjoyed an evening of food and fun.
Shinfield View care home in Berkshire regularly holds family quiz nights with themed food.
At its latest event, quizzers were able to enjoy a Chinese-inspired feast of chow mein, spring rolls, and prawn crackers.
Six teams battled it out across eight quiz rounds.
One team was made up entirely of residents, who were supported by staff to jot down their answers, adding to the inclusive, family-style feel of the event.
Quiz questions ranged from geography and history to film, food and gardening, with the winning team taking away a hamper of wine, cheese, and chocolates.
Shinfield View, part of the Berkley Care Group regularly holds quiz evenings as part of its busy programme of family and community events designed to bring people together and create meaningful shared experiences.

“They bring everyone together in such a fun and relaxed way – residents, families and the wider community.
“The Chinese food went down a treat, the atmosphere was fantastic, and it was lovely to see so many people laughing and sharing the evening together.
A huge well done to the Cornerwise team on their win.”
