A CARE home manager in Berkshire has gone the distance to raise money for cancer care.
Nadia Koseva, the general manager of Shinfield View, completed the Jurassic Mighty Hike in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The hike consists of a 26-mile marathon trail along the Jurassic Coast, beginning and culminating in Wareham, in Dorset.
Organised by Macmillan, the event sees participants trek through scenic villages such as Swanage to raise funds for the charity’s various support services for those with cancer.
Ms Koseva has worked in care for a number of years and explained that seeing the impact of cancer diagnoses on people and their families was one of the main inspirations for her participation.
“Macmillan gives people with cancer everything they’ve got–if you’re diagnosed, your worries become Macmillan’s worries.
“But they can’t support everyone without help; every donation, no matter how small, helps make a real difference in someone’s life.
“I’m so grateful to everyone who has supported me so far, and I hope to continue raising even more for this amazing cause.”
So far, Ms Koseva has exceeded her target of £250, having raised more than £300 to date.
