A SERIES of live concerts aimed at democratising access to classical music is set to return to Reading with new dates.

The Great Hall at the University of Reading will be transformed into an intimate setting illuminated by thousands of candles when Candlelight returns in September.

The show sees a local string quartet collaborate with talented musicians who share the belief that classical music can resonate with a broader audience.

It includes performances of work by composers like Vivaldi, Mozart, and Chopin as well as reimagined interpretations of popular hits from artists such as Queen, ABBA, Coldplay, and Ed Sheeran.

The first of four shows will focus on Vivaldi’s Four Seasons concerti and the second on the work of Hans Zimmer (both on September 13) followed by a Hallowe’en classics show on october 31, and concluding with Coldplay vs Ed Sheeran, both on October 31.
