ELECTRICAL goods and tools were stolen from a houseboat moored on the Thames towpath.

Thieves broke in via a window from the barge to collect their haul.

The incident took place between 7.45am and 1pm on Friday, March 17, at the back of the Tesco Extra store on Napier Road in Reading. The path links the Kennetmouth with Kings Meadow park and is a popular spot for mooring.

It is part of the Thames Path and is a popular spot for walkers and commuters. Newtown residents use the route to access the supermarket.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Jen Cox, based at Reading police station, said: “I would like to hear from anyone who thinks they could have witnessed this, or who has any information which could help our investigation.
