BTC Intermediate Cup Final: Pangbourne and Reading YMCA Rapids to meet in battle for silverware

Pangbourne and Reading YMCA Rapids are set to head-to-head in the BTC Intermediate Cup final on Friday.

The Rivermoor Stadium, Scours Lane, will play host to the cup final where both teams will battle it out to be crowned as cup champions.

The match kicks off at 7.30pm. Entry for adults is £3, concessions £1 and under five’s get in free.

Reading YMCA Rapids go up against their fellow Thames Valley Division Three competitors with silverware on the line.

Pangbourne have already enjoyed a remarkable league campaign which saw them crowned as league champions.

They won 13 of their 16 league games to race to the league title on 39 points, six ahead of second placed Burghfield Reserves.

Meanwhile, Rapids are in third with one game left to play.

They are currently on 31 points with nine wins, one draw and five defeats from 15 games.

If they are victorious in their final game, they will leapfrog Burghfield into second position.

Rapids are in excellent form going into the cup final having closed the gap on Burghfield in the league by firing four past them in a convincing away win at the weekend.

A brace from Matthew Thatcher and goals from Joel Burton and Jeilyn Liriano helping them to a 4-0 success.

Reading booked their place in the cup final with a semi-final win over Reading City Development with strikes from Ricky Latham and Brodie Davies.

Pangbourne earned their spot in the final with victory over Burghfield Reserves with goals from Jamie Broadley and Luke Maze seeing them to a 2-0 triumph.
