Blue, BoyzLife, and Scouting For Girls headed to Palmer Park for summer

READING is set for something of a blast from the past as some of the biggest bands from the turn of the millennium are coming to town.

Palmer Park will see some of the most successful bands of the last two decades performing when Blue, Boyzlife, and Scouting For Girls play a gig there next summer.

Blue, formed in London in 2000, is the band which launched Antony Costa, Duncan James, Lee Ryan, and Simon Webbe into international stardom with songs such as All Rise and One Love.

To date, the band has sold more than 15 millions records across six studio albums, three of which went to number one in the UK album charts.

They’ve worked with musicians such as Elton John and Stevie Wonder and have represented the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest, as well as garnering two BRIT awards.

They embarked on their first tour in nearly 10 years back in 2013, and after touring for a number of years, returned in 2022 with their latest album, Heart & Soul.

They’ll be joined by pop rock outfit Scouting For Girls, hot on the heels of their seventh studio album, released last month.

Since they began in earnest in 2007, the band has seen four BRIT award nominations and an Ivor Novello award nomination, as well as sold out shows at Wembley Arena and the London Palladium.

Also on the bill is BoyzLife, the musical meeting of two of the biggest bands from the 1990s and 2000s.

Brian McFadden, best known for his work with Westlife, and Kieth Duffy, best known for his work with Boyzone, have joined forces to bring the best of both bands to the stage.

Not only do they perform many of their favourites from the respective bands, but are also set to release original music as a duo.

The event takes place at Palmer Park on Sunday, June 16, next year, from 3.30pm.

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Wednesday, November 8, with tickets priced at £35 for adults, £20 for children.
