A BERKSHIRE charity has announced the results of a survey showing the levels of satisfaction of its volunteers.
ABC to Read is an organisation which trains and supports volunteers in primary schools across the county to help children improve their reading skills.
The charity conducted a survey of its volunteers to judge how happy with their work they were.
All of those who took part felt that the supervision from their fieldworkers was helpful or very helpful, and 96% reported that their initial training was helpful or very helpful.
Of those surveyed, 96% also said that the ongoing support they received from the charity was helpful or very helpful.
Participants described their time with ABC to Read as “fulfilling” and “welcoming,” and said that their work gave them “immense satisfaction from mentoring young people.”
It follows the charity’s receipt of the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service as well as the Investor in Volunteer Award.
It has also been nominated for a Pride of Reading Award.
Marcia Rowlinson, ABC to Read CEO, said: “We have always been grateful for the investment of time and skill that our volunteers give to our local youngsters.
“We are also grateful that the volunteers themselves feel so invested in and cared for, as this latest survey shows.
“We love our volunteers as much as they love igniting sparks of interest in such a beloved and critical pastime.”
