THE BOROUGH’S healthcare provider is to be part of a new initiative designed at improving mental health care.
Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Oxford Health is to be one of nine collaboratives from across the country to receive specialist help in developing innovative new approaches to health care as part of the Provider Collaborative Innovators scheme.
Chief Executive of Berkshire Healthcare, Julian Emms, said it would see closer working with primary care, local authority, and voluntary sector partners.
“Berkshire Healthcare enjoys a positive working relationship with Oxford Health,” he said. “We look forward to developing and innovating mental health care in our partnership for patients.”
Chief executive of Oxford Health, Dr Nick Broughton, said: “We will lead the transformation of mental health for our Integrated Care System (ICS) and build on our clinical and operational expertise to implement a population health management approach to address mental health needs in our ICS and make sure that resources are used in the best way possible to tackle health inequalities and improve outcomes for our population.”
The project is part of a broader Mental Health Partnership across the ICS, bringing together partners from primary care, local authority and the voluntary sector working across Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and West Berkshire.
