A Berkshire man has been sentenced to prison following a Thames Valley Police investigation into stalking and voyeurism offences in Slough.
Graham Lees, 46, of no fixed abode, was sentenced to two years and two months behind bars at Reading Crown Court on Tuesday, 2 December. The court also imposed a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and an indefinite restraining order to protect the victim and prevent further offences.
Lees pleaded guilty to one count each of stalking and voyeurism, specifically, recording a private act, during the hearing.
The offences occurred between December 2023 and February 2024, when Lees befriended a woman in her twenties and persisted in contacting her via an unknown number after she rejected his advances. He also took her personal belongings and placed a mobile phone in her bedroom to secretly film her without her knowledge.
Lees was first arrested on 18 February 2024 and subsequently re-arrested and charged on 12 July this year.
Detective Constable Laura Bevan, who led the investigation, commended the victim’s bravery: “The victim has shown remarkable bravery in coming forward and enduring the lengthy investigation. The crimes committed by the defendant, stalking and voyeurism, were horrendous, causing significant distress and fear. Thanks to the victim’s courage, we were able to bring the offender to justice and ensure that others are protected from similar harm.”
