READING CITY FC have sold a record number of season tickets as the club gears up for the new campaign in the Combined Counties Premier North.
The CItyzens enjoyed an outstanding campaign last year under manager Simon Johnson that saw them locked in a title battle with Ascot United for the majority of the season.
Reading ultimately finished in third position behind both Ascot and Egham Town which saw the club achieve their highest finish in the division.
Johnson’s team racked up 21 wins, seven draws and just eight defeats which saw them total 76 points.
Ahead of the new season, Johnson penned an open letter to fans of non league football to encourage them to purchase season tickets to support the team.
He said: “We were astounded as a club to see the amount of support we received last season in our most successful year.
“This year we have already sold a record amount of season tickets which is incredible and shows that we really are a club going in the right direction.
“If you want to see an honest, hardworking group of players who will fight for the badge week in, week out, then join the fans that have already purchased their tickets.
“Come and be part of something bigger than just football, come and be a part of the community.”
