IT’S BEEN an egg-citing Easter for Reading Lions, thanks to customers of a self-storage company.

Earlier this spring, the team at Access Self Storage Reading in Portman Road, invited people to donate chocolate eggs to its annual appeal. The donations were then given to the Lions to share with children who would otherwise go without.

The company collected 136 donations in total, filling a small storage unit in the process.

The Reading branch was one of 54 across the country to take part in the challenge, and in the 13 years it has been running, the company has collected more than 11,000 donations.

Jan Albert Fourie, general manager of operations at Access Self Storage, said: “It’s so important for our store teams to work closely with their local communities and to be able to help those that will really benefit from this collection.

“We know the teams and our charity partners will be grateful.”
