LITTLE Heath School in Tilehurst has announced high levels of academic attainment on A-Levels results day and commended its students on their achievements.
Nearly half of grades achieved in A-Levels were B grades or higher, and 100% of vocational students passed all of their qualifications.
Off those, 45% of grades awarded were of at least Distinction level, representing high levels of attainment, particularly compared to pre-pandemic results.
Students were commended for their “resillisnce, determination, and commitment to their studies.”
David Ramsden, Headteacher at Little Heath School, said: “All our staff have enjoyed working with the 2023 Year 13 cohort – they have coped well with everything over the last two years and deserve all the success they have achieved.
“They are a lovely cohort and we wish them the absolute best for the future.”
Following the announcenment, the school said: “As a school, we pride ourselves on our strong relationships between students and staff.
“We would like to thank our teachers, leaders and support staff who have worked with our students throughout the last two years helping them to achieve excellent results.
“We wish all students in our outgoing Year 13 the very best for their futures; we will enjoy following their successes through our school alumni.
“We look forward to welcoming them back in December for our annual leavers’ celebration event and hope they enjoy the rest of their summer.
“Congratulations once again to the Class of 2023.”
Among its notable individual performances were Charlie O, who received three A* grades and an A, and will go on to study Mathematics at the University of Cambridge.
Tamsin Y received 2 A* grades and 2 A grades, and is now set to study History, also at The University of Cambridge.
Daisy Y is set to study Philosophy and Theology at The University of Bristol after receiving three A grades, and Lillie-Rose L-K is set to study English at University College London after receiving three A grades and two B grades.

“A high number of our students have secured places on a range of courses at Universities around the country, including The University of Cambridge, Bristol and University College London among many others.
“Students who have decided to pursue alternative Post-18 pathways will be starting degree apprenticeships with Amazon and higher apprenticeships with Thames Valley Police and Accountancy with James Cowper Kreston.
“Others have chosen gap years to volunteer and travel or have secured employment including an exciting opportunity at a local restaurant owned by a celebrity chef.
“We are equally proud of them all.”
