Reading FC fans have reacted strongly after Leam Richardson’s team fell to a consecutive defeat in League One.
It was always going to be a tall order for the Royals up against Bradford City who started, and ended, the day in second position in the table.
The Royals came off the back of a dismal home loss against relegation battling Peterborough and now find themselves hovering dangerously close to the drop zone.
The defeat means Reading are in 19th position on 22 points from 19 games as they stay out of the relegation only on goal difference.
After a goalless first-half, Bradford showed their superiority in the second-half with goals from Sarcevic and Pointon to win the game 2-0.
Some fans reacted very strongly on social media following the defeat.
One fan said: “Take my hat off to you Couhig and JJ, for being so useless. You’re killing our club just like the last owner but rather than malice, you’re doing it out of sheer incompetence.”
Another added: “Already looking forward to the same excuses and predictable post match de-brief. Anyone know how to claim a refund on my season ticket?”
Another said: “Disgraceful, big January needed. Rob is going to need to get his wallet out and back his manager, we need quality into this squad and fast, it’s simply not good enough to be anywhere near the relegation zone in League One.”
Another fan said: “This is what happens when you hire a cheap manager, and don’t sign players. Empty promises, empty pockets it seems. Awful.”
Reading are back at home on Thursday night when they host Jack Wilshere’s Luton Town before they face a Boxing Day trip to relegation rivals Plymouth Argyle.
