Hennerton Golf Club member Harry Baker ensured qualification for national event ‘Race to Woodhall Spa’.
A 54 man field played at Brickendon Grange Golf Club, Hertfordshire, as part of the regional qualifying event for the national event, which is held by England Golf.
The top 10% of the field would qualify for the finals at Woodhall Spa in August.
Harry played outstandingly well to score a 34 points on a long and tough golf course.
This gained him a fourth placed finish and only one point off the top of the leaderboard.
Hennerton Golf Club also hosted their annual club championship event earlier in the month.
Club members pitted their golfing skills against a field of enthusiastic hopefuls, with the competition taking place over two days.
The results of the first day determined the order of play for day two.
The main prizes and the honour of being the Club Champions is decided on the best gross scores and prizes for the best nett scores ensure that players of all abilities have a chance of glory.
The new Ladies’ Club Champion is Liz Deaney on 161 gross with runner-up Catherine Baker on 166 gross.
The new Men’s Champion is Ben Griffiths on 145 gross followed by Stephen Parr on 147.
