IT HAS gone down in history as one of the most memorable matches in the history of snooker, and next year it will be recreated in the original home of the game, Reading’s Hexagon theatre.
It was a very late night on 1985 when Steve Davis and Dennis Taylor battled it out to win the World Snooker Final.
A record-breaking 18.5m TV viewers stayed up to the very early hours to watch the legendary match.
Now, 40 years on, the duo will be reuniting for a rematch, and a recreation of that final frame that is firmly etched into the memories of so many people.
Joining them will be snooker legend John Virgo. He will act as host and referee for an evening guaranteed to include his famed, hilarious snooker impressions.
There will also be a chance to ask questions to the snooker stars and, for those purchasing VIP tickets, a meet and greet session.
The event takes place at The Hexagon on Tuesday, January 28, from 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £40, with the limited VIP tickets at £72.50.
