I’m not one for
Flowery words, so I’ll
Give it to you straight,
If I go too long, without
A walk in the country,
I get into a frazzled state.
Green is not my favourite
Colour when it comes
To picking clothes to wear,
But … it is my favourite
Colour, when I need to
Stand and stare …
When I’m overwhelmed
With sadness or having an
Averagely-bad sort of day,
That’s when the calming
Colour green really comes
Into play.
I can put one foot in front
Of the other and empty
Out my mind,
As I focus
On a tree, a twig, a leaf
And forget about mankind.
