A CAVERSHAM man has been sentenced to jail time for drug offences on Reading.

Daniel Sene, aged 31 and of Osterley Drive, Caversham, was sentenced to two years and four months in prison at a hearing at Reading Crown Court on Friday, November 17.

He pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to supply a controlled class A drug, namely cocaine.

It follows an incident on Wednesday, August 23, when Sene was stopped while driving in St Peters Hill, Reading.

He was searched under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act and was found in possession of £165 in cash and a phone which contained text messages indicating drugs supply.

A plastic container with 13 bags of cocaine was also recovered, with a street value of around £520.

Investigating officer PC Liam Steele, based at Reading police station said: ““Thames Valley Police does not tolerate the supply of drugs and Sene has been sentenced as a result.

“I hope this sentence shows the seriousness with which drug dealing and carrying a knife is taken.

“We work tirelessly to bring offenders to justice and take these drugs off our streets.

“If you have information about drug dealing in your area, please report it to us by calling 101 or making a report online so that we can take action.”
